The Forum a Gem Adding to the Fabric of Springfield Life

By Lisa Doherty, Board Member.

I love the Springfield Public Forum for many reasons. Despite the economic challenges that Springfield faces, there are so many wonderful and diverse offerings in our city, like the Museums at the Quadrangle, Forest Park with its zoo and the Basketball Hall of Fame, to name a few. The Forum is another gem adding to the fabric of life here. It is smart, informative and thought provoking with an incredible diversity of programming from education to technology to Supreme Court justices to Astronauts. Amazingly in this time when everyone is trying to make money from their content, the Forum continues to be a free event with costs covered by the generosity of this community. As a recent addition to the Board of the Forum, I have been impressed by the commitment of the volunteers who work to bring community dialogue to our valley. This community values education, and our region is dominated by incredible Universities and Colleges. The Forum creates an additional source of education that we can all enjoy and learn from. Please support the Forum by joining us at any or all of our events this fall.
